As a career broadcast meteorologist I bring unique, relatable experience to my clients from forecasting every type of extreme weather to life-seasoned communications skills.
Masters degreed in Atmospheric Science from SUNY Albany, I am a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) by the American Meteorological Society(AMS), and served as the chief meteorologist and operational forecaster for NBC12 WWBT-TV in Richmond Virginia since 1981.
I believe in giving back to my profession. Ongoing volunteer efforts include mentoring college students through the AMS Private Sector Mentoring Program, enhancing community awareness of weather and climate as an Instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond, and collaborating with the National Weather Service on numerous projects including serving as founding committee member for Virginia's first ever Severe Weather Awareness Week in 2021. I am also involved with numerous other public outreach initiatives to further the science.
