Career broadcast meteorologist
- Masters degreed in Atmospheric Science from SUNY Albany
- Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) by the American Meteorological Society(AMS)
- Decades long career as chief meteorologist for WWBT-TV in Richmond Virginia
In 2020 I decided to form my own business that quickly moved to a focus on travel-weather assignments. Concurrently I am also an adjunct with University Richmond, teaching meteorology and severe weather preparedness courses. My work there also includes research collaboration with the Robins School of Business
I have also been a meteorologist/writer for the Washington Post Capital Weather Gang since 2021, with numerous articles published.
I believe in giving back to my profession. Volunteer efforts include mentoring college students through the AMS Private Sector Mentoring Program, enhancing community awareness of weather and climate as an Instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond, and collaborating with the National Weather Service on numerous projects including serving as founding committee member for Virginia's first ever Severe Weather Awareness Week. I am also involved with numerous other public outreach initiatives to further the science.
