Career broadcast meteorologist
- Masters degreed in Atmospheric Science from SUNY Albany
- Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) by the American Meteorological Society(AMS)
- Decades long career as chief meteorologist for WWBT-TV in Richmond Virginia
- In 2020 I decided to form my own business with a focus on travel-weather assignments and consulting.
I am also an adjunct instructor with the University of Richmond, teaching meteorology and severe weather preparedness courses, with emphasis on the importance of the connections of social science to effective public weather awareness and response.
My work there also includes research collaboration with the Robins School of Business, with recently published paper (2025) and another currently in final review; both dealing with meteorology as proxy for business risk analysis.
I have been a meteorologist/writer for the Washington Post Capital Weather Gang since 2021 with numerous published articles.
